Koeman press conference summary

Speaking to the media today, Koeman said the following:

  • “It is a big loss” without Bolasie
    • “First of all, it is a big loss for the player himself, his team mates, and the whole club because he is an important player. [In London], he will have a second opinion and, normally, I think, the operation will be next week.”
  • Looking for some ‘good options’ in the January transfer window
    • “We are looking for some good options, and maybe now, [with Bolasie injured] it may be necessary a bit more than it was before.”
  • Seamus Coleman is ‘okay’
    • “He is okay. He did a normal first training today. Of course, at the beginning of the week, there’s still some pain, but it looks positive. He is normally available for the week.”
  • Ross Barkley is ‘part of the team’
    • “He is part of the team. He plays a lot. He didn’t play last weekend, but that’s the competition our squad, and if you like to play, you have to show that to the manager, and he is trying his best. We know he is one of the players that needs to bring more productivity.”
  • Romelu Lukaku’s form
    • “It is the story of strikers. You can have a good run of scoring goals, and then you get some time that’s difficult. We need to create more. He can improve in his movement.”
  • The team’s form
    • “Every time one point – that’s not really enough, because the best confidence is getting three points.”
